Chicago
I've lived around Chicago my whole life. However, after living in the city for 3 years now, I have gotten the sense of what I notice everyday through windows, buses, train cars, and walking. Architecture is no doubt an important part of this amazing city. But the way the city acts around these monumental buildings is what will never cease my interest.
Home / Chris' Daughter
This is an ongoing project about the hometown I have grown up in my entire life. My dad has also lived in Chesterton for most of his life after he was adopted from Greece when he was 8. I wanted to tribute this project to my father because he showed me the ropes of this little beach town Chicago suburb. He owned a restaurant downtown for much of his life, and knows everyone in town from it. My view of my hometown is unpleasant, except for when I think of my father and everything he has shown me.
Abandoned Places
This project is also ongoing because abandoned buildings have always been a fascination of mine. The visual argument between human creation v. nature really inspires me to try and seek out why humans have abandoned these places. In order, is a church and house from Gary, Indiana, then my boyfriend's old abandoned house in Markham, Illinois, an abandoned mansion from a former NBA player in Flossmoor, IL, as well as photos deeper into a house in my Home / Chris' Daughter series that I drive past every day to get home.
Travels
These are leisure landscape and travel photos I've taken from trips to Europe and South America.
